This week I had the pleasure of interviewing Vikas Sood, Managing Director of  Melbourne based Pinnacle Advisory and Consulting Group.

Vikas and I have been working together for a couple of months around his business development strategy and specifically how to use LinkedIn to generate new client engagements.

Here’s a summary of the ground we cover during the interview:

  • How Vikas took the experienced gained from senior corporate finance roles and launched an outsourced CFO advisory practice;
  • Why every business owner needs a ‘financial co-pilot’.
  • The marketing and practice development challenges Vikas was having and the results that have transpired from the work we have been doing together.
  • How Vikas has leveraged LinkedIn to start conversations with his target market and win new clients.

One thing Vikas understands is that business development is a marathon, not a sprint.

It takes commitment and constant action and whilst Vikas has been successful in a short period of time, his results are not typical and are a testament to him as a professional.
